Ingredients
Changes to recipe
Cookie
- pecans were replaced with honey roasted peanuts
- white chocolate was replaced with candy coated peanut chocolate bar
- cranberries were replaced with Skor toffee bits
- I added 1 teaspoon/4 grams of cookie dough extract
Topping
- I decided to boost the flavour and make these squares a little more exciting
- 135 grams peanut butter, 55 grams cookie butter, 175 grams semi-sweet chocolate chips
- place all above ingredients in a saucepan and melt on low heat until smooth
- pour over cooled squares
- top with chopped honey roasted nuts and crushed butterfinger chocolate bar
The Bake
- I used a new shallow pan (specifically brownie/square pan) 7 X 13 - I purchased this beautie pink speckled pan at HomeSense
- if you don’t top this with a chocolate glaze I suggest scattering some chocolate chips prior to baking
The Results
My rating of this recipe is 5 out of 5. I will make the original recipe, I know the combination will be delicious.
I love this recipe, as add-ins are endless. Here are some options to try:
- Pretzels, caramel, chocolate chips
- rum- raisin (use chocolate covered raisins)
- coconut, macadamia nut, dried pineapple
- dark chocolate, dried cherry
This square could be a great dessert. We added some vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce and it was amazing.
