Ingredients
- I used green apples and bartlett pears
- I added 1/2 cup/65ml salted whiskey caramel sauce to filling
Crisp Topping
- I used almonds instead of pecans
- I used light brown sugar instead of turbinado
- I added 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
- I added 1/4 cup of cornmeal (Baking with Dorie recommendation)
- place topping in freezer for 30-45min before adding to crisp OR make the day before and keep in fridge
The Results
My rating of this recipe is 5 out of 5. The added caramel does make this dessert special. A scoop of vanilla ice cream and some extra caramel sauce, and you definitely have a hit.
